Have Double the Impact this Christmas: the Big Give 2020

For the third year, we are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, which means that every donation made to us from 1st December until 12pm on 8th December will be matched by our champion donor, the Local to London Fund. This means that every penny donated by our supporters really counts and has double the impact it normally would have.

Our goal is £5,000, which will be matched to £10,000 by the campaign. We are planning to use the funds raised to launch two new market stalls in London, which will allow us to support 16 new young people through our Risers and Breadwinners every year. The donations will go towards buying equipment for the new stalls, like gazebos and table cloths, as well as stall fees and our Breadwinners’ wages.

We have been told time and time again by our young people that working with Breadwinners makes an incredible difference. Ex-Riser Dagim told us:

I’ve learnt so much customer service and talking to new people, and I have two certificates that will help me in the future. It’s been a life changing experience for me, and now I have a job.

And Ahmed, ex-Breadwinner:

I tried to find a job but they refused me. Breadwinners accepted me and supported me. I learnt from Breadwinners how I can start my business again. I left Breadwinners now to run my business, but I am a Breadwinner in my heart.
