Risers and mentors at Canada Water Market

About the Risers Programme

The programme provides support for young people seeking asylum aged 16-24. It is designed to help our young people to gain UK work experience by working as Market Stall Assistants. The programme includes employability training sessions and 1:1 mentoring to help participants gain transferable skills, grow their networks and be better prepared to gain employment when they receive refugee status.

The programme runs in both London and Brighton every 3 months.

The whole experience gave me more confidence as I’ve seen I can do things that I didn’t think I could do.
