This week we asked one of our Risers graduate, Nasir, to interview fellow Breadwinner Elias about his experience of Breadwinners, challenges he has faced and what his hopes are for his future and the future of the world.

Tell me about your experience with Breadwinners?

I started volunteering with Breadwinners last year. I really love bread and I have learnt English with them and I’m getting lots of experience.

What was the best moment on the Riser programme?

My best moment was when I was graduated because the party we had was the best! I can still remember all of us dancing and enjoying ourselves- I would say that moment was the best moment I had at Breadwinners.

How has having a mentor supported you?

I think she helped me a lot. She supported me with everything and I even developed my English because it wasn't very good before.

How has Breadwinners supported you in the future?

I think Breadwinners will help me to be a good runner. They’ve encourage me a lot and I’m even planning to run in the name of Breadwinners!

What makes you motivated?

Running makes me motivated because it helps my mind to be open!

How do you keep fit at the moment?

I train seven days a week morning and evening! I train a lot and I think I'm training better than before the current crisis. Now, I wake up early every morning to go to the park and to do some exercise.

What was your toughest moment at Breadwinners?

The toughest moment was when one day I was late and I missed a Breadwinners football match!

What do you like to be the future?

I want to be the best runner in the world like Mo Farah and my dream is to be the best athlete in history.

What would you like the world to be like when the pandemic ends?

I would like the world to be a much better place and for everyone to work together because we can solve problems and indeed together we can make a better world!
