Brighton, we’re coming for ya!
We have exciting news - we’re piloting a new programme in Brighton! Following months of discussions with local charities working on the ground in the area, it became clear to us that there aren’t many opportunities for refugees in Brighton. We want to change this.
That’s why we’re working in partnership with many amazing organisations in the area, including the Hummingbird Project, Pathways to Independence, the Refugee Council, One Church, Brighthelm Centre and Brighton Open Market to bring new opportunities to refugees in Brighton and Hove. Our pilot scheme will follow a similar model to our London markets, enabling participants to develop their employability skills and gain UK work experience.
We’re looking for Volunteer Mentors to provide 1 to 1 support to our programme participants. We train you to become a great mentor, and you get to spend a few hours over the weekend at our markets supporting your mentee. Apply here!
Following the success of our London programmes, we’re super excited to be growing the Breadwinners community and be supporting more refugees to gain their first job in the UK.
Watch this space for updates!
The pilot scheme is being funded by The National Lottery Awards for All.
