Life as a refugee: Every hurdle, every triumph shapes the narrative of resilience, especially for young refugees striving for a brighter future. Basic needs that come effortlessly to others, like education or  owning a laptop, seem like distant stars in the night sky. Yet, amidst the struggle, there is an unyielding spirit—a hunger for knowledge, a desire to connect, and a yearning for the simplicity of watching a movie or attending an online class. When asked what they need a laptop for, one said:

“To study and work. I want to be a mechanical Engineer, and they use computers!”

 In a remarkable collaboration with  National Grid and Screen Share, we're delighted to share the success story of providing 53 laptops to eager and talented young individuals. Thanks to the generosity of Aaron from National Grid and the commitment of Screen Share to digital inclusivity, these laptops are now empowering dreams and opening doors to a world of opportunities.

Samrawit Wallano, a recent graduate of our Risers Programme, has received a laptop through this invaluable opportunity and is now preparing for an upcoming performance

When asked about their laptop needs, several individuals expressed aspirations related to job applications, acquiring coding proficiency, developing new skills, pursuing studies in ICT and many other inspiring dreams. Find out how a laptop could shape their future careers:

Coding and Web Design:

Student: "For studying coding and web design."
