Our Big Give 2023 Christmas Challenge has launched!

Breadwinners is once again taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge!

Between 28 November and 5 December 2023, The Big Give is doubling donations made to Breadwinners, which means your donation will have twice the impact!

We’re so excited to share our campaign video for the Big Give 2023 Christmas Challenge, created by our talented videographer Michele @stezzofilms! We caught up with Nurul, Khader, Petros, Ahmed, Tom and Saleh at Wapping Docklands Market to find out a bit more about them and their work with Breadwinners. You can watch our full campaign video below - look out for some great dance moves!

“It is very difficult to find your first job in the UK because you don’t have the confidence to go and search for a job” explains Ahmed. Young refugees seeking asylum are a disproportionately prejudiced population facing many barriers to employment: in London alone, 70% of refugees are estimated to be unemployed.

It is very difficult to find your first job in the UK because you don’t have the confidence to go and search for a job. I want to be a businessman and to have my own business. Young businessman!
— Ahmed, graduate of Breadwinners

With the help of Breadwinners, young asylum seekers and refugees are provided with work experience and training. “It feels very good to work in the market” Ahmed says, and this experience helps many participants to move towards achieving their ambitions. “I want to be a businessman and to have my own business. Young businessman!” Ahmed tells us.

With your help, Breadwinners can open more markets and provide vital support to young refugees, offering them their first job opportunities in the UK. Put simply, “you are changing lives”, Ahmed says.
